Shop More! Rosettes are decorative ornaments that trim the corners of windows, doors, and fireplaces. The rosette block is square or rectangular shaped and sits at the corners of the top of the window, door, or fireplace to provide a finished, distinguished, decoration.

The interior rosette pattern is usually round or oval, but can be any shape or pattern. Moulding is places between the rosettes as part of the trim.

Rosettes located inside a home are often made of carved wood, but can also be made of wood composite, cement, stucco, plaster, concrete, and stone.

Wooden rosettes are available in most woods, including white pine, poplar, oak, mahogany, maple, walnut, and cherry.

They can be finished or unfinished, stained with any wood stain, or painted to match the surrounding trim. The classic rosette patterns are daisies or targets, but there is no limit to the types of patterns that can be used.

Themed patterns are currently popular, where symbols or elements from nature such as leaves, fruits, birds, seashells, moose, bear, fish, and suns are used in place of the more traditional daisy or target pattern.

Rosettes used as part of window treatments not only help frame a window, but can compliment draperies and drapery rods, and should therefore be considered during the entire design process.

Rosettes are also used around doorknobs and are available in wood, and metals such as wrought or forged brass and ornate cast iron.

Rosettes provide distinctive focal points while trimming doors, windows, and fireplaces for a more polished feel.
